The first thing that you do is save it on your PC an a logical location that helps you to find it quick when you need it.
Find a 3D printer
Where to find it:
- The easiest way to find one is when you have one yourself. But maybe check the next chapter to find out if it is good enough.
- maybe you have a technical friend in your network that has a good one. Most of them like to show you how great their printer is.
- A lot of companies offer 3D print service. But take care theprices vary enormously. I have seen less then 10 dollar and about 70 dollar for the same service.
Check the print quality
To achieve the optimal results, you need the following settings:
- when you can you print it standing straight on the shank
- print it using FDM technique and PLA material
- line thickness should be 0.1mm or less
- infill should be 100% (preferred by a large wall thickness)
You can experiment with other settings, but this is what we use.
In most 3D print shop you need to upload the stl file, select the proper settings, pay and activate the print-order.
Sand the result
The table, the facing and the tip need a little sanding.
I use a 600 grit waterproof sandpaper on a flat glass plate to sand the table until it is smooth and flat.
You can sand the facing and the tip in one movement to remove the transitions between the layers.
